Recognition for helping others acquire the skills, resources and opportunities to live and act independently.
Recognition criteria
The focus is lasting independence: show which capacities others gained and how they were subsequently able to act for themselves.
Eligibility and fair evaluation
Open to eligible nominations under the general programme rules. The positive impact, even if small, must be identifiable. Nominations are compared with candidates of a comparable type. Self-nomination is welcome; awards are not based on prestige or popularity alone.
