A letter from the founder of Hainica Magazine ยท October 17, 2026

Welcome home, everyone.

Hello, everyone. I hope you are well. On this October 17, I want to wish you a wonderful close to the year and an equally wonderful new one ahead. I am happyโ€”truly happyโ€”to share something that is personally mine, and yet not mine alone. Hainica Magazine belongs to the people who will read it, question it, contribute to it, and make it their own.

It began with a simple experience. When I submitted my first scientific study, I knew it could be rejected. I am not claiming to be an expert. But I also believe that a carefully researched idea deserves to be read on its merits. A degree matters; expertise matters. Yet a singer should not automatically be dismissed while a mathematician is automatically praised. Good questions can come from unexpected people. Evidence, effort, and reasoning should determine how we examine them.

This magazine is my peaceful response. I do not want a fight. I want to make a path, and leave room for others to make theirs. We will look at what happens around the world, including places and people that rarely receive the spotlight. We will welcome perspectives from every backgroundโ€”but publication will require substance, fairness, and a willingness to consider more than one side.

Everyone fits in this building.

You do not need to speak like a professor, a scientist, or a philosopher to be heard here. You only need to speak clearly, thoughtfully, and respectfully. There is room for art, questions, uncertainty, reflection, and even the occasional bird passing by while you browse. If you think there is no room left, remember: some cities build roads and trains many floors above the ground. We can always imagine another level.

We do not publish hostility against people because of their religion, sexuality, nationality, politics, or culture. Disagreement is welcome; dehumanization is not. We care about people, animals, plants, and the world we share. We cannot read anyone’s intentions. We can, however, consider what they say, what they can support, and how they treat others.

We all make mistakes. They do not all have the same consequences, and the pain they cause cannot be compared on a simple scale. Accountability and the possibility of learning should coexist. We do not need to turn every discussion into an extreme hypothetical. Sometimes the most human thing is to listen, repair what can be repaired, and move forward.

For Ricky, and for a kinder world.

Hainica has its own design, life, and soul. Part of its inspiration comes from Ricky Kruger, a Canadian artist and a close friend of my husband whom I never had the opportunity to meet. What I know of Ricky comes through someone I trust. His commitment to helping people find a home deeply moved me.

I also want to be transparent about how I intend to use the magazine’s proceeds. 5% will be dedicated to Ricky Kruger’s family, in recognition of the inspiration behind this project. 20% will be reserved in Hainica Magazine’s own account to hire professional editors, because I believe a serious publication should benefit from people with the editorial expertise to help it grow. 50% will be allocated to Omani Neรปmen Vitae Chora Centre, supporting the broader humanitarian work that matters to me. The remaining 25% will support the website, office expenses, and some compensation for my own work. This is the allocation I intend to follow as the magazine develops.

For now, Hainica will primarily live online. A printed edition remains a dream I hope to make possible when resources allow.

I believe care must be more than a beautiful sentence. It must become action, movement, and the possibility of a warmer society. Not everyone will agree, and not everyone needs to love everyone else. But when problems arise, we should try to resolve them as human beingsโ€”with dignity, kindness, and an honest willingness to recover together.

There is no place here for weapons, intimidation, or celebrating harm. There is a place for thoughtful criticism, learning, accountability, and people who want to contribute something meaningful.

I do not need to know which side you belong to before I listen. I want to know what you have come to say to the worldโ€”and what you are ready to say to yourself.

Thank you for being here. Whether you read every word, explore a new story, or simply watch the little birds fly across our pages, this home has room for you.

With warmth,
