The Cultural Ring
Recognition of meaningful changes in cultural patterns, values, customs or shared practices.
Recognition criteria
The nomination must identify the social or cultural practice affected and the change observed. Cultural recognition is not based solely on popularity.
Eligibility and fair evaluation
Open to eligible nominations under the general programme rules. The positive impact, even if small, must be identifiable. Nominations are compared with candidates of a comparable type. Self-nomination is welcome; awards are not based on prestige or popularity alone.
